OUR MINISTRIES

BURUNDI WIDOWS AND THEIR CHILDREN

Sodela has recently started an organization in Burundi that is dedicated to helping widows and their children. As of right now we provide food and clothing for 15 families. We have members in the Sodela organization that make trips back and forth between Burundi and America delivering supplies collected in donations. Our goal is to supply these women with the necessities they need to take care of their children and themselves.

LIGHT MISSION PENTECOSTAL CHURCH

After years of meeting in borrowed spaces, in 2011 Sodela helped the

Light Mission Pentecostal Church (LMPC)(whose congregation consists

mostly of Burundian refugees) and their Pastor, Magwe Arthemon to

purchase a building of their own for $130,000 at 1210 Heiskell Ave in

the Lonsdale community. The congregation has made payments on this

loan for about 6 years without any outside support. LMPC's membership

has increased from about 130 people to more than 300 people, but 60%

have no source of income.

The smiles that we see from these Burundi families make our efforts truly worthwhile.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY HOMES

So far three Habitat homes have been built for Burundi refugees--Razaro, Ndarurinze Prosper, and Nippo Marc.
